Spanish Embassy & Consular Guidelines

Pakistan Student Visa Guide

Official Visado de Estudios checklist and step-by-step preparation for Spanish Consular appointments in Islamabad and Lahore.

1

Official Document Attestations

Before your visa interview, you must have your entire academic portfolio officially attested. The Spanish Consulate requires:

Higher Education Commission (HEC): All degrees, diplomas, and transcripts must be attested with a valid HEC barcode sticker.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA): After HEC attestation, all educational documents, along with Family Registration Certificates (FRC) and Police Character Certificates, must be attested by MoFA Pakistan.

2

Spanish Sworn Translations (Traducción Jurada)

The Spanish Consulate in Pakistan will NOT accept documents in English. All non-Spanish documents (Academic Degrees, Transcripts, Police Certificates, and medical documents) must be translated into Spanish by an officially registered **Traductor Jurado** recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España).

*Note: VGEE coordinates directly with licensed Traducción Jurada agencies in Madrid to issue valid official translation seals for your dossier.

3

Financial Solvency (IPREM Metrics)

You must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to cover your living costs in Spain. The minimum metric required is 100% of the **IPREM (Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples)** index, which currently stands at approx. **€600 per month**.

For a standard 12-month student visa, you must demonstrate a minimum of **€7,200** (equivalent in PKR) in a bank account under your name or your primary sponsor's name (parents), supported by:

  • 6 Months detailed bank statement with an official bank stamp & sign.
  • Sponsor Affidavit of Support (attested and translated).
  • Source of Income documents (salary slips, tax certificates, business registration).
4

Medical Certificate & Police Character Certificate

For stays exceeding 180 days, you must provide:

  • Medical Certificate: Issued by a registered physician, stating that the applicant does not suffer from any diseases that could have serious public health implications in accordance with the International Health Regulations 2005.
  • Police Character Certificate: Issued by the local police headquarters (Khidmat Markaz) covering the last 5 years of residence, attested by MoFA and translated.
